Members of VBT helped a couple of hundred people ring-out 2011 and ring-in 
2012. The evening was cold, but the atmosphere was warm as people 
gathered around the Pacific Bell at the UBC Asian Studies Centre. The evening 
started with the thundering of taiko drumming by Shinobu Homma. 
After chanting the Juseige and a few words from Aoki Sensei, people were welcomed to strike the bell. Afterwards, they were offered a warm cup of Amazake, and some literature on Buddhism ("The Teachings of Buddha" distributed by BDK), Jodo Shinshu, and our temple.
